Savings tip: Dollar bill savings plan

one dollar bill
One way of saving for that next vacation, college, pay bills off faster, or even retirement, can be simple. When you make a cash purchase, don't spend your $1 bills. Break your $20 and when you get home, stuff those $1 bills in a jar. In no time at all, you'll have enough $1 bills to go out for dinner, but break that $20 again, instead.

Remember, don't get yourself into credit card debit instead of spending those $1 bills, because the interest is much worse on unsecured credit card debit. Making tons of little charges on a credit card can wipe out all the savings you build from the $1 bills in no time.
