Dryer sheets remove gum
My brother-in-law's clothes got gum all over my dryer. When 409 didn't do anything, I discovered dryer sheets are quite effective. You still have to use some effort to get the bond between the gum and dryer surfaces to release, but it was a great solution.

That's quite impressive, I never had to deal with gum but it looks like this wouldn't be a problem for dryer parts. One problem minus for the housekeepers.
