I got OpenBSD 2.9 to work on my 486, but I had to get a -current floppy image for it to get the install started. The first thing I did was send off a copy of dmesg for the dev team and now I'm compiling a new extremely slimmed down kernel to save on memory usage. I even decided to kill floppy support. I thought about killing vga support, but that was just too far if I needed to get on the system outside of ssh. It's taking 33 million years for the new kernel to compile (1 million years per megahert). Hopefully the 50 mhz chip I won on ebay for $3 will come this week. Next is setting up the 486 as a firewall, but I'm waiting on another NIC and time.
